This item gives at least partial voice to some thoughts that I have been rattling around in my brain lately ... unfortunately I have been sufficiently consumed with other things that I haven't been able to give them more definition. Do you think these two phenomena are interconnected? When I think about some of the discussion about Google's plans and activities late last year (see, for example, this item), I begin imagining the possibility of a balkanized future for the Internet.
